The Center for Lowell History
The University of Massachusetts Lowell, Center for Lowell History (CLH) was established in 1971 to assure the safekeeping, preservation, and availability for study research materials in unique subject areas, particularly those related to the Greater Lowell Area and the University of Massachusetts Lowell. As one of three branches of the University Library, CLH houses the University Archives, which includes materials dating back to the founding of UML’s two parent institutions: the Lowell Textile School and the Lowell Normal School. CLH also houses diverse collections related to Lowell’s history, including collections pertaining to the mill era, local writers and politicians, neighborhood histories, immigrant communities, and much more!
Only a portion of CLH’s archival collections are included in UML RAD. Please visit http://libguides.uml.edu/archives/digital_collections to learn more about our digital collections.
